New Building, New Possibilities
A new school year presents new possibilities, and nowhere in Western New York has that been more noticeable than at South Buffalo Charter School.
In fall 2014, South Buffalo Charter School opened a dazzling 100,000-square-foot facility located at 154 South Ogden Street. The new school features state-of-the-art classroom, lab, library, auditorium, and gymnasium facilities, as well as new athletic fields, offering students and teachers a complete learning environment that is second to none.
To meet growing demand, South Buffalo Charter School opened additional sections of grades 5-8 for 2015. The school now houses approximately 915 students from Buffalo and 8 surrounding districts. Facilities have continued to improve as a new playground, climbing wall, and geodesic climbing dome were added to the site this fall.
“We have made some important changes to programming this year, improving and expanding our services to meet our students’ academic, athletic, social, and emotional needs,” said Robert Maulucci, Principal. “Every student now receives daily physical education. We are also very excited about our brand new Primary Project program for grades K-3 and our new enrichment program for grades K-6. We have also hired additional staff to meet the needs of our growing population of special education and English Language Learners.”
South Buffalo Charter School is a public charter school and all school-aged children are qualified to apply for admission. For more information, call (716) 826-7213 or visit www.southbuffalocs.org.
