The Heritage Education Program (HEP) is the school division of Heritage Centers for children and young adults (ages 3-21) with special needs and their families.
At HEP, we understand that having a child with special needs can raise many questions for parents. Our staff is dedicated to helping you have your questions answered. Our professional staff will support your family’s needs and help guide you through your child’s stages of development. We can assist you in the exploration of all the service options within our community that will help your child to achieve his/her greatest potential.
To meet your child’s individual needs, the services he/she receives will be determined by your school district Committee on Preschool Special Education or in the case of school-age students, the Committee on Special Education. In many of our classrooms, HEP utilizes The Greenspan Floortime Approach®, developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan. This child centered approach looks at each individual student’s emotional development, social relationships, methods of communication, natural strengths and sensory integration.
During the school year, programming is available five days a week. A six-week summer program is also available pending approval by your school district’s Committee on Special Education.
