Big Night for Salamanders!

Genesee Country Village and Museum
Genesee Country Village and Museum
Every spring, on the first warm rainy night, the mole salamanders emerge from their hidden homes to make the long journey to the vernal pool to reproduce. Join us for a night hike to the vernal pool to look for migrating salamanders. The evening will end with a campfire and a reading of the beautiful story Big Night for Salamanders by Sarah Lamstein. This year we are excited to welcome a pair visiting Axolotls! Come see these forever young amphibians up close and personal while you learn more about the life cycle of a salamander. This event is scout and family-friendly and is recommended for ages 3+
